I Love Rainy Days

Wow! Where did this downpour come from?!? It had been sunny and in the high 90's for the past few weeks, then, out of the blew, El Dorado Hills and Folsom were hit with buckets of rain.

It started as a light drizzle in the morning, forecasters said that it wouldn't last too long and it should brighten up by the afternoon. Then, by 9 am, it was showering! I ran out to do a few errands and it seemed like El Dorado Hills had officially transitioned into Winter. It was hard to believe that on Saturday it had reached 96 degrees!

But you won't hear me complaining! I LOVE the Fall season. Sure my allergies kick into high gear for the first couple of weeks, but it always feels like such a relief to have this Cool, damp weather after months of scorching hot! Although it's never the most pleasant having to run errands out in the rain...especially with some California drivers out there! I love how all your senses can be engaged by the rain. For example, the rhythmic sounds of the falling rain on your car or house roof instantly gives me a warm, comforting feeling.

The smell of wet pavement and damp soil takes me right back to my childhood and the times I would throw on my rain gear and run around our cul-de-sac jumping in puddles and catching rain drops on my tongue. Even the feeling of rain on my skin is so purifying.

It's hard to describe, but this weather is such a nice reminder for me of how incredible our planet is. How miraculous the Precipitation Cycle is and how Earth can sustain all forms of life.

Leave a comment about what your favorite season is and what you like most about it.
